This Thursday’s regular city commission meeting promises to cover a wide range of topics including the police department, a possible competitor to the city’s farmer’s market, and the option of asking the State Attorney if High Springs violated any statutes in the past.  For the full agenda, including backup materials, click here.  For a brief listing of the issues to be covered, see below.

The meeting will be Thursday, May 12th at 6:30pm at High Springs City Hall located at 110 NW 1st Ave.  As always, the public is welcome to attend; there will be opportunity for public comment on all the issues.

1. CONSIDER A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT BY JOEL GARRETT BUZBEE TO ALLOW AN OPEN-AIR FARMER’S MARKET AT 17406 NW US HWY 441, TAX PARCEL 00256-001-000.

2. DISCUSS AND CONSIDER THE FEASIBILITY OF UTILIZING THE COMBINED COMMUNICATION CENTER (CCC) TO DISPATCH POLICE CALLS.

3. MID-YEAR FARMERS’ MARKET REPORT BY FARMERS’ MARKET MANAGER MARIA ANTELA.

4. CONSIDER AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH SWS FOR AUTOMATED WASTE COLLECTION.

5. DISCUSS AND CONSIDER AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY GARDEN TO WATER DAILY.

6. DISCUSS AND CONSIDER OBTAINING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OPINION ON PAST WASTEWATER BID PROCEDURE.

    To be accurate the project is the current sewer project. It is either one project and the violation that occurred in 1999 is still in effect. Or it is 3 separate contracts in which case all 3 contracts are in violation.
    I think the Attorney General is going to see this case one way or another.
